Dear Students,
We are delighted to announce that the Institute of Advanced Materials, IAAM, Sweden, will begin an international Pre & Post PhD programme specifically designed for post-doctoral students who are either currently pursuing their studies or have recently completed them. It runs in a hybrid mode, with both on-site and on-line components, and spans three months, with one month of course lectures followed by two months of research assignment. This programme offers a limited number of seats in the fields of science, engineering, and technology. We are also pleased to inform you that the International Association of Advanced Materials, Sweden, will sponsor 100% of the course fee for 25 deserving students, making it more accessible for them.
This initiative aims to empower young people by providing them with opportunities in advanced research and innovation that have a global impact. The Pre & Post PhD programme is structured to equip talented students with the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral programmes in various scientific, engineering, technological, or relevant fields abroad.
One of the primary objectives of this programme is to encourage and support promising students from under-represented or nontraditional backgrounds, whether it be personal, academic, or employment related. We strongly believe in promoting diversity and fostering a scholarly environment that welcomes individuals from different walks of life, as we believe it enhances the overall academic community.
If you are passionate about pursuing a career in research and innovation, this programme is designed to provide you with the necessary foundation and guidance. The international exposure and academic rigour offered through this program will prepare you for the challenges and opportunities that await you on your academic journey.
Please note that the number of seats available is limited, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. The course fee for the programme is 8500 euros, with 100% of it being sponsored by the International Association of Advanced Materials, Sweden, for 25 deserving students. Equivalent to 5 Credits
After successful completion of this course, each student will gain the following:
The purpose of the program is to offer a current and comprehensive overview of cutting-edge research in the fields of science, engineering, and technology. They will cover key aspects of integrated topics related to research and innovation, with a particular focus on health, energy, and the environment. This interdisciplinary programme is tailored for both pre- and post-doctoral students and researchers, regardless of their educational background. Individuals from various fields, including chemistry, materials science, physics, pharmacy, medical science, and biomedical engineering, are encouraged to participate.
Number of lectures: 10, (Program Coordinator will give lecture 1 and 2, lectures 3 - 10 will be given by the topical experts and course participants, 45 + 45 min lecture and discussion; duration of each lecture: 1 hour and 30 min. The students will be accountable for their lecture materials. Each student should discuss their lecture materials with Program Coordinator about 10 days prior to the date of their lecture. The idea is to discuss student lecture materials with the Program Coordinator for suggestions and comments before the lecture. The coordinator will send lecture materials of the course to each student at the beginning of the week. The student will prepare 5-7 sets of questions and send them to coordinator by e-mail along with 5-10 key relevant literature two day before the lecture. The coordinator will compile all questioners & literature and distribute to each course participant one day before the lecture.
The objective is to provide training and guidance on an assigned research project, as well as to compose a top-notch research or review article that delves into the latest trends in integrated science, engineering and technology, particularly in the domains of health, energy, and environment, such as biomaterials processing, properties and applications, materials engineering research, and advanced technology, as well as innovation, national and international policy, and healthcare with a focus on green transitions and sustainable management.
The discussions and instructional materials will offer valuable insights into the key areas of research and innovation, as well as cutting-edge advanced technology. The interdisciplinary nature of the topics will stimulate students to explore intriguing new research projects.
