The Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM) was established in 2016 to the purpose as a catalyst for excellence in the field of materials science and technology which will combine research in different fields like physics, chemistry, physical chemistry, and applied sciences in order to provide a better understanding of material properties and create innovative devices. IAM activities to influence federally funded research by forming collaborations with academic, business, industry and worldwide partners in areas of national interest to address global challenges in the arena of Advanced Materials and Technology.
The IAM provide excellence in materials research by facilitating the work of researchers so as to achieve leadership in sci-tech and industrial revolution. The Institute emphases on Translational Materials & Technology in the selected research areas including 2D Materials, photonics, electronic and magnetic materials; materials for energy generation and storage; biomaterials for the nano and bio-interface; and composite materials. The mission comprises the following:
